Small is the new Big… in trains, too.
Each year, the Smokerise Baptist Church in Stone Mountain hosts a gathering of model train enthusiasts. They come from three different clubs, and from as far away as Chattanooga to play with their trains… and let the public watch. Frankly, it is pretty cool. And this happens to be the weekend. It is generally the last weekend in July… so if you can’t visit on Sunday, July 27th, then mark your calendar for next year.

Lane’s New Video Channel
I have just struck a deal with The Video Connector to provide video content for my sites. Look for lots of cool videos from Tara and TJ from Reel Productions. They have been the providers of my video tours for a couple of years now, and really have a handle on the real estate market. Enjoy.

Hi Lane,
Jumped from AG to your site and really liked the photos of the model railroads. I am a model railroader myself and have two layouts in my home (which my wife does not appreciate) – one is HO and the other is N scale. Nice relaxing hobby that allows one to use various skills sets or develop new ones.
Glenn, while i can say that I had a 4×8 layout years ago, I am not “into” model railroading. I think it is cool, and love watching people with a hobby they enjoy.
The magic for me was watching how excited my son got watching the trains. It was also fun shooting pictures…
Lane, I did the same thing with my son when he was young. He has his own Lionel layout in one half of our garage.
It is great to have a Father and son hobby together.
