There are three different versions of the car, and my favorite would be the AW-11.  The AW-11 was the 1st generation car.  It was built from 1985 to 1989.  In the US, it weighed as little as 2,350 lbs.  The AW-11 was the lightest of the MR-2s.  In 1985, it had a factory rear sway bar.  The 1988 and 1989 model years had an optional supercharger.

The 2nd generation cars would be the SW-21/SW-22.  These were perhaps the prettiest of the cars, and were built from 1990 to 1999 (1995 in the US).  There were both normally aspirated cars and turbos.  These were larger, heavier and more powerful.  They were extremely popular.

The last generation of cars were the ZZW-30.  These were the Spyders.  They were smaller than the Mk2 (SW-21/SW-22) cars, and a little lighter than the Mk1 cars (2200lbs).  These were produced from 1999 until 2007.  They got back to the light weight, high mileage and fun concept.
