There are cars, and then there are icons that can be driven.  An example of an icon that can be driven is the Porsche 911.  It has been around since 1964…  and 45 years for a basic car design is forever.

But of course, it has changed over time.  And some think that the ultimate 911 was the Group B 959.  In itthe short time they were produced, from 1986 to 1989, they were the ultimate road Porsche. The only other car with similar performance was the Ferrari F40.

And performance was stellar for the day…  0-60 in 3.6 seconds, 1/4 mile in 11.8 seconds.

There were only 377 built.
