But there are Corvettes that aren’t well know to everyone. Enthusiasts know of them… but lots of people don’t know that there are lots of variations of the venerable Corvette.
Two different generations of the Corvette, the C4 and the current C6, have had one edition that stood above the others.
The C4 version had an engine that was designed by Lotus and built by Mercury Marine. It was the LT5. It developed 375hp. Aside from some fairly subtle styling cues, it was just a Corvette to most people.
In 2009, the variant was reintroduced. This time, there was WAY more power. Like 638hp. The 2009 ZR1 was a true supercar. A 205mph exotic… at a mere $100,000 and capable of driving to the store.
