Motoring Monday… Cool Cop Cars…

- Image via Wikipedia
Come on… admit it. You think cop cars are cool. OK, some cop cars are cool. Some look like something that your boring uncle would drive, but then there are the ones that are really sleepers… loaded with power and ability, like Superman disguised as Clark Kent.
I ran across a post on Raw Justice that outlined a bunch of Bad@$$ cop cars. They looked at some squad and pursuit cars that are used elsewhere in the world, and there are some that are pretty surprising.
Among the rides that I really didn’t expect to see in Police livery were:
- Lamborghini Gallardo from England
- Lotus Exige from England
- Spyker C8 from the Netherlands
- Peugot RCZ from Hungary
Of course, there were some American cars that I wasn’t too surprised about, like Hemi Chargers, Mustangs, and a Viper. And then Germany had some strong entries with Mercedes Benz, Porsche and BMW providing local flavor… And of course there are some killer cars in Japan, so why not have a Skyline cop car?
Enjoy. Let me know what your favorites are…

Many purists car these car heretical. They were front engined and water-cooled. Not only that, but they weren’t even concieved as pure sports cars, but rather as Grand Touring cars.
The 924 preceded it by a couple of years, but the Porsche 928 was different… There would be no 928 Carrera…
I guess one of the reasons I’ve always liked these is a guy in the Porsche Club, when I first started Autocrossing, had a 928 with a killer exhaust. That car made the most glorious sound. The crowd would almost hush to listen to him run. It wasn’t that it was loud, it was that it sounded like ripping burlap… ANGRY ripping burlap.

101 Cars, Part 61…

This is one of the MOST iconic cars of all time. If I had to narrow a list of half-a-dozen of the most striking cars designs, this would be one… I don’t know if it would be #1, but it certainly would be on the very short list.
The basic design of the car has been with us since 1963.. that is 46 years. Of course it has been tuned, upgraded and improved, but there is no question when one sees a Porsche 911. It is a 911…
911, 930, 935, 959, 964, 993, 996, 997… they are all 911s in the eyes of the non-Porschophiles.
101 Cars, Part 45… video Sunday
There are cars, and then there are icons that can be driven. An example of an icon that can be driven is the Porsche 911. It has been around since 1964… and 45 years for a basic car design is forever.
But of course, it has changed over time. And some think that the ultimate 911 was the

I have just struck a deal with The Video Connector to provide video content for my sites. Look for lots of cool videos from Tara and TJ from Reel Productions. They have been the providers of my video tours for a couple of years now, and really have a handle on the real estate market. Enjoy.
