I had to go there… I have a few pet peeves, and one of them (maybe more than one) revolves around the language that real estate agents use when talking about what we do.

- I don’t like thinking of people as ‘prospects’… I like the clients I work with, and I don’t see them as just a paycheck.
- I don’t ‘sell’ people houses… I advise, facilitate and market… but I can’t bully or browbeat someone into buying a house they don’t want.
- I don’t ‘cold call’… I don’t like having people call me about things I haven’t contacted them about, so why would I think it would be OK to do the same thing? I would rather provide information and let you feel like you can call me without getting pressured.
There are more… Here is the post from last year.
