We’ve just dropped a new feature into LaneBailey.com… Walk Score.
You can enter an address and see how “walkable” the neighborhood is. alternately, you can check out commute options from the address to your work address. It will tell you if there is a transit route, bike route or walking path… as well as the time for each (if available).
It is a great way to check out another dimension of properties that you may be interested in… so, search out a home you like and then see what is available for getting to work or around the neighborhood.
A few weeks back we quietly snuck on a new listings search tool. We’ve been playing with it and had it public, but hadn’t really announced it…

If you want to look at properties around Atlanta, check it out. There is always a link at the top of the page under Home Search > Listings. It is pretty cool. We’d LOVE to get your feedback, too.
One of the nifty things is that the folks that wrote this IDX platform are local… right here in the Atlanta area. I have had the opportunity to meet with them a few times and we have talked about features and options. They are pretty good guys, so if there are specific features that you think would be cool, let me know and I can pass the word along.
Feel free to set up and account and save searches. Don’t worry, I’m not going to hound you until the end of time to buy a home just because you set up a free account.

If you haven’t noticed, there is a lot going on here at the moment…
We recently decided that a better property search tool was in order for the site. While we were at it, redesigning and freshening the site also seemed to be in order.
So, that’s exactly what we are doing… integrating the new search tool with a new site design.
When complete, there will be a newer, better search option available, as well as the linked option that has been here for the last year. There will also be some more integration with our other sites, GarageHomesUSA.com and our newest site, UltimateHomeMarketing.com.
You may have noticed that the order for the Market Reports has changed. We will also be rolling out a monthly newsletter in the next few weeks. One of the newsletter features will be faster access tot he Market Reports. We will try to drop in a few other cool features, too.
Later in the year we will be rolling out a few subdivision specific reports, as well as some profiles. There will also be some specific property profiles of homes an the market.
There might be some more video, too.
There are some other changes in the works as well… stay tuned.
As always, there will be some real estate opinion and comment on current topics.
No, I’m not stopping this blog, but it will re-gain its real estate and garage focus. For the last 4 years, I have been churning this blog out almost every day. But around a third of my posts have been about cars. (I really like cars…).
But this is supposed to be a real estate blog. I have a lot of ideas to make it a better real estate blog. But the cars I going to get parked in a new garage.
That will be the place where I write about cars. This will be the place where I write about real estate, the real estate market and garages.
I have some great garage posts and posts about things that sellers can do to give their homes better curb appeal. I also will be bringing in occasional guest writers to talk about specific things like mortgages, home inspection or other disciplines related to buying or selling real estate.
At the same time, while I get the new site launched and rolling, this one will drop down to 3-4 updates each week, rather than the 5-6 updates a week of the last few months.
I hope you remain a reader, and I also hope you join me over at Cool Car of the Day.
