I know GarageHomesUSA is down…

I just don’t know why…  Neither do the experts.

We are working on it, though.  Sorry.

***Update.  It is fixed.  GarageHomesUSA.com is back online.  I’d like to thank the scripting specialists at BlueHost for finding and correcting the menu issue…  ***

GarageHomesUSA getting a big facelift.

My “real” website has been sitting over in a corner all by itself… bored and lonely while I have been working over this blog, LilburnDwellings, GwinnettGarageGuy and a couple of websites for my 4 wheel drive club.

The article in the AJC Sunday has really forced me to bring that back to the front burner.  I still really enjoy helping people buy homes with really cool garages, as well as helping sellers market those types of homes across Gwinnett and much of the Atlanta metro area.

But, working on building the readership and content for the Lilburn area has dominated my “free time”.

Lilburn will still be getting great content, but I have a lot of excellent garage related content for GarageHomesUSA… so I am doing the full redesign, and tweaking it in major ways.  I’m also going to be making LaneBailey.com less Lilburn focused… splitting content between cars and local information.

Stop into my other sites and see what fits.  I should be flipping the switch Wednesday, moving Garage Homes to the new host and showing off its new look.

Are you Social?

I have become increasingly social… and while it is cool, it is also kind of weird.  I have been exchanging emails with people I haven’t talked to since SIXTH grade.  That was more than 30 years ago.

Through FaceBook, MySpace, Twitter, Active|Rain, YouTube and others, I am able to reconnect with people that had previously been lost to the sands of time.  It is an amazing and interesting time in which we live.

A few months ago, I wrote an experimental post using a couple of keywords from my youth.  I used to roller skate and I posted up the name of the rink, the city, my high school and a few other things.  It was really cool to have a few emails from people that were searching for those exact terms.

One of the tools in my social bag is called Retaggr.  Basically, it is like an electronic business card with updated information about all of the places you can find me.  It even allows you to quickly connect with me on multiple platforms.

So, do we know each other? There are a few Lane Baileys out there… I am friends with several on FaceBook. I have actually gotten calls from people looking for one of the other Lane Baileys. Don;t worry, I don’t mind at all. I’m happy to try to help any way I can… I know that I dominate the search results for the name.

I’m going to post up soon a little more of my history…

Finished basements add tremendously to a home’s value… or not

(On LilburnDwellings.com, I have just started a series about the top ten misconceptions buyers and sellers have about home values.  This is part of that series.)

On GwinnettGarageGuy.com I recently wrote a post about price and value.  My friend Cindy Jones made a comment about a home with a converted basement that reminded me about this particular misconception…  (BTW, Cindy is a great agent, and while we may slightly disagree about this particular issue, I would not hesitate in the least to send her a referral.)

Her comment was indirectly about a home with a finished basement being worth

New Year… New Directions…

Since it is the beginning of a new year, I thought I would turn you on to video I came across.  Since this is the first day of 2009, it is only appropriate that we look to the future.
