Atlanta Social Media Breakfast #1

It is coming up on Thursday… at 7:00am…
I am quite willing to admit that I am NOT a morning person. I don’t really like 7:00am… especially when I have to get up at 5:30 to make it happen.
But…
This is pretty important, and will be a LOT of fun. The VERY 1st Social Media Breakfast – Atlanta will be both fun and important…
For those of us with businesses that utilize social media, like FaceBook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and scores of other sites, leveraging our social media contacts to increase our earnings is VERY important. And there are a lot of unwritten rules, practices and traditions for each different network. They also have collective personalities. One of our primary goals is to help decode all of that information in order to be effective.
And there is no doubt that networking (both online and off) can be a lot of fun. Reconnecting with old friends, making new friends… it’s all about building relationships. So, there isn’t any reason that we can’t have fun getting together with like-minded folks to talk about something we have in common.
So, obviously it is worth the early morning wake up.
Interested???
If you are interested, take a look at our post on the Social Media Breakfast website and/or drop in and become a fan of our FaceBook Page and look around. We would LOVE to have you join us…
Atlanta Social Media Breakfast, July 23rd

That is right. We have finally worked out some of the details and nailed down some of our specifics. Time and location!
We will be hosting the very first Atlanta Social Media Breakfast at the Duluth Diner on Thursday, July 23rd from 7:00 to 9:00am. We will have the WHOLE place to ourselves as their normal opening time isn’t until 9:00 during the week.
We will have a little socializing from 7:00 until 7:30 and then run a program from 7:30 until 8:30. The program will be a round table discussion of social media tactics and technologies. And then from 8:30 until 9:00, we will do a little more networking… and then we can all head out to work.
Ken Cook and I will release a little more information on the program as we get closer to the event. Because this is the first event, it won’t be a total GeekFest, but rather a more general discussion about the basics of Social Network Marketing.
Ken is the co-host of the Social Media Edge radio show on Blog Talk Radio. His show is live on Tuesdays from Noon to 1:00pm.
Stay tuned for updates.
Also, if you are interested in attending, please be sure to let one of us know. Email, phone, Twitter, chat… whatever works best for you. You can find Ken on Twitter, too.

Whether you are a regular user or you are just interested in having your own blog, we have a bit of news…
For those with a little WP experience…
Let me introduce you to LaneBailey.info. On that site we are writing about Social Networking and WordPress. In addition to talking about theming and how to get the most from your WordPress blog, we talk about Flickr, FaceBook, LinkedIn and other emerging networks.
Social Networking and Breakfast!
We have a little bit of time, but we all know how time sneaks up on us…
Thursday, July 23rd 7-9am
I am teaming up with Ken Cook to facilitate the Social Media Breakfast series in Atlanta. In a nutshell, we would hold regular breakfast meetings to discuss how to better implement social media and social networking for business. There would be both expert presentation and round table discussion.
Of course, there would also be time set aside for some actual face to face networking and eating…
The first event will likely be in Gwinnett, with future events moving back and forth between Gwinnett and Cobb. The idea is to hold meetings in different parts of the Atlanta Metro in order to allow perticipants to be able to meet up with people that are in their area.
I will be updating this blog as well as my other blogs with new information as it becomes available.
You can find me on FaceBook, Twitter and Flickr… as well as a bunch of other places.
