I got a call this afternoon from Matt Fagioli with Diamond Dwellings. His brokerage is a presenting sponsor of the REtech South Conference which is coming to Atlanta on March 27th, 2008.

Basically, it is a conference about blogging and video and the use of web 2.0 technologies to better market the properties we represent, as well as ourselves. So, for a day and a C-note, agents and brokers can learn to use web 2.0…

I met Matt at the Active Rain Blogger’s Party during the National Association of REALTORS® convention in Las Vegas. Odd that I would have to go all of the way to Las Vegas to meet a local guy that also believes that we can better serve consumers through the use of technology…

I plan on attending the conference… I have some things I need to learn. For one thing, I want to expand the use of video. I think that there are some great opportunities to use video in viral marketing of properties. The flip side is that there are a million bad property videos. I showcased one in a blog post on A/R a few months back that might as well have been a funeral. The house looked dead, and the music didn’t help.

I also want to use blogging more effectively. Email marketing, SEO, plug-ins, widgets… you get the idea.
