For years some people have complained that American cars couldn’t compete with cars from Japan and Europe.  And while that might have been the case at one time, it certainly isn’t the case now…  This is the second in a series about some of those cars.

Here are some more American Cars that can go head to head with the best in the World… and WIN!

Ford F150 Raptor – $43,790* – The Ford F150 has been a standard bearer forever.  And the F150 has been an amazingly flexible platform.  There are literally hundreds of variations.  This one is tuned to do one thing… go FAST on rough roads.  It has power and an incredible suspension.  It is also wider than a standard F150.  Gotta love the look, too.

Dodge Challenger SRT8 – $46,595* – When Dodge reintroduced the Challenger line a couple of years ago, the car excited the press AND enthusiasts.  It was a beautiful update of the Challengers from the early 1970s… but with more speed, power, mileage and build quality.  The surprise is that it beats out even Hondas and Toyotas in being loved by its buyers.  More of them would buy one again than any other car.

  3. Chevrolet Corvette Z06

Chevrolet Corvette Z06 – $83,195* – The ZR1 is the highest level of Corvette performance.  The Z06 is $20k less… and has 97% of the performance.  Equipped with a 427ci V-8, it doesn’t lack for power… and pulling over 1g on the skidpad, it doesn’t lack for grip.  Nevermind that it is still faster, more powerful and lighter than rides costing 2-3 times as much…

*I priced the cars through the manufacturers websites.  I didn’t cheap out… I ordered them up the way I would want to own them.
