I just ran across one of these videos on the Disney Blog and had to see if there were any others.  I came up with three.

The drill is that the photographer, David Roark of Yellow Shoes Creative Group, shot still pictures and then used tilt/shift on the images to make them appear to be of miniatures with limited depth of field.  They are also time lapsed at about 1 frame/second.

The videos are simply amazing to me on multiple levels.

  • Technologically, they are really cool. Even knowing that these are pictures of real people in real places, there are times when I think I am looking at pictures of a model.  Odd that I am equally amazed at people making reality look like a model as I am with people making models look real.
  • Artistically, they are amazing. The camera angles, lighting and exposure make beautiful images.  Through the thousands of images in the videos, there are so many that stand on their own as beautiful images that ‘amazing’ is one of the few words that comes to mind.
  • Creatively, they are pure Disney. They each tell a story.  As a park visitor, and fan of Disney as well as someone that has taken a Disney Cruise (and has another planned next year), I can identify with the story.  The pictures tell ME  a story, and I hope that they tell you a story as well.  The stories are simple, they are only a few minutes long.  But, they capture the experience; the Magic Kingdom, Epcot and a Disney Cruise to Nassau and Castaway Cay.
