Gwinnett County Public Schools are undergoing a redistricting plan due to growth in the county.  The new plan is expected to begin with the 2010 school year.  It was announced on October 2nd, 2009.  There are several dates to keep in mind:

  • November 4, Deadline for completion of boundary input forms.
  • November 13, 2009– Boundary committee completes review and submits recommendations.
  • November 19, 2009– Public redistricting comments from affected schools (Location Instructional Support Center Board Room, 7-9 p.m.
  • November 25-December 4– Final recommendations with revised boundary maps delivered to schools.
  • December 10, 2009– Anticipated Board of Education vote on redistricting.

The redistricting that affects Suwanee is as follows…

I also expected to see Lanier High School as part of the plan, but I guess it might not be ready in time.

If you’d like to send a message to the committee, here are the forms…

What Chris Brogan had to say at New Media Atlanta

Chris Brogan, President of New Marketing Labs ...

If you weren’t there, Chris Brogan, co-author of Trust Agents recently spoke at the New Media Atlanta conference. It was excellent.

He ran through several genres of topics, and even addressed the “Back Noise” channel… by putting it on the screen for all to see. (Be aware, there is a bit of profanity, and while Chris didn’t “drop the F-bomb”, PLENTY of people on Back Noise dropped it all over the place)

Head on over to LaneBailey.info to see the video.  It was a great presentation, for several reasons.  To start with, he knows his stuff… but he also took a new technology that seemed to be designed to throw the presenters off of their game… and he used it to his advantage!

Flood Damage in Gwinnett County? Read On…

I just posted this up on my LilburnDwellings blog.  I got a email from Senator Chambliss today outlining options for those in the Atlanta area that have been affected by the floods last week.  It details some of the resources available to those that suffered non-insured damages from the floods.

Remember, don’t delay…

Here is the link.

Local Mini-sites…

Have you noticed the new box on the sidebar? Over the next few days, I will be tweaking these out further. But the basic idea is that each of these links opens a mini-site for the specific area. There will also be a link to preset searches for homes in that area.

Zillow put together this cool tool, and aside from the information that I am adding, they have set up some pretty cool market statistics for each area.

I’d love your feedback.

We don’t have a million readers (yet), but would love to be able to open up my blogs to local (or in some cases, not-so-local) businesses to “Guest Post” on LaneBailey.com, LilburnDwellings.com or GarageHomesUSA.com.
