Just have to brag a little bit…

Ok, I just have to brag a little bit here.

My 1 year old will officially be 1 year old on Friday.  We are having a party for him on Friday here at the house… and we are also doing something on Sunday… that has morphed beyond control. And the latest morph is pretty cool.

Go Thrashers

I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed watching the Thrashers tonight.  Congrats to Eric Boulton for the two assists. See the video

Underdogs… and why they are fun!

I have a general preference for underdogs.  I can’t say for sure why, but I can make up a few good reasons… caps_pens01

  • What fun is it to cheer for the team that always wins?  There isn’t any suspense.  When you cheer for the underdog, the outcome is in doubt… it also makes the wins sweeter!
  • I guess I have a hero complex.  I didn’t like to see kids getting bullied on the playground as a kid, and I would rather throw my support to the “bullied” than to the “bully”.
  • Often the favorite isn’t the best… just the most popular.  It isn’t just true in sports, but in politics and many other areas.

There are a LOT of great underdogs to cheer for.  Some are just for fun, others are more serious.

Look for my list of the Top Ten Underdogs coming up before New Year’s Eve…

Go Thrashers…

Just went to the game tonight.  The Thrashers beat the (until tonight) unbeaten Buffalo Sabres in an over-time shoot-out.

Thrasher hockey is a blast.  It is fun, fast and exciting.  Garrett cheered as the Thrashers scored.  Jackson cried when the Sabres scored (he is 7 months old, so I think he might have been spooked by the Sabres fans nearby).

Throughout the season I will write about interesting things I “figure out” during games.  I hope you join me.

Thanks…

It’s HOCKEY time…

That’s right… the Thrashers are playing in Blueland again.  The real season doesn’t start for a week, but the pre-season is rolling right now.

And I am SO glad that the goal judge box is gone.

Stay tuned… we give away some kickin’ tickets sometimes through the blog.  Section 120, Row D on the the aisle, directly behind the goal (attack twice goal).
