The Case-Shiller Index of home prices came out yesterday. It is an interesting index because it concentrates of resales and looks at the new prices of properties that have previously sold. In theory, it is tracking the same houses over time to see what values are doing.
In looking at the methodology, I think that there are some weaknesses in the way things are looked at, but the data is still interesting and relevant.

I was reading ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas to my son a couple of nights ago, and had the idea for the post… The first couple of lines were already in my head and so I sat down this morning to knock out the rest of it before it made me crazy.

Yesterday I teased about some deals in the Gwinnett area. I mentioned that I would be posting them on Lilburn Dwellings.
True to my word I have begun posting them. I have one up now, and another will appear late tomorrow morning. I should have another posts tomorrow evening and the final of this group posted by Thursday afternoon.

Ok, I am a tease… I’m not going to identify them here. But I will be posting some property information about some properties that I have run across here in Gwinnett County on my other blog, LilburnDwellings.com.
In each case, these are properties that even in the current down market have at least 10% equity built in, and up to as much as 20% equity. These are NOT my listings, but rather properties that I have run across that appear to be good deals. They range in price from under $100k to just over $300k.
So, look for them beginning Tuesday, November 18th, 2008. It looks like some banks and REO holders are getting realistic about selling their holdings. And as soon as people start to figure out that there are deals to be had, there won’t be deals to be had…
