Buford, GA is a lot more interesting than you might think at first. Like several other cities in Gwinnett County, it owes its early history to the railroad. In fact, it is the same railroad as Suwanee and Norcross, the Atlanta – Richmond Air-Line Railroad. And Buford owes its name to Algernon Sydney Buford.
