101 Cars, Part 80…

I have always loved the styling of the classic Indian Chief motorcycles. The full streamlined fenders, the classic lines… the flow… looking like they are rolling even as they sit still.
But, the price is steep… and there is an alternative that takes the styling of the classic Indian and marries it to fuel injection and modern reliability. The alternative is the Kawasaki Vulcan Drifter… They were made from 1999 to 2005. And they were a commercial flop… I talked to a dealer while new bikes were still in the showrooms, and he remarked that people loved them or hated them… They either came in to buy one or wouldn’t consider one. I guess I fall in the “love it” camp.
When it is good…
it is really good. But when it is bad it sucks…
There is a group of motorcyclists out there that are doing things on (and off… and on again) with motorcycles that have become almost unbelievable. They are freestyle motocross riders. A few short years ago, a flip was considered to be almost impossible. Wait until you see what the guys in the second video do with the short amount of air time. Think back to the first video… when time ran out.
The name is Ballast… Mobile Ballast
I was talking with some of the guys Saturday night after the 4wd club meeting… and we started talking about some of the cool types of racing around the world. One that had to come up was sidecar racing… It has to be seen to be understood.
Lane’s New Video Channel
I have just struck a deal with The Video Connector to provide video content for my sites. Look for lots of cool videos from Tara and TJ from Reel Productions. They have been the providers of my video tours for a couple of years now, and really have a handle on the real estate market. Enjoy.
