Ken Cook, not the weatherguy, is one of the Mortgage guys that I call.  He is an outspoken critic of bad practices in the Mortgage Industry… as well as being a veritable library of information for consumers.

Yesterday, Ken posted on Active|Rain about How “Approved” Loans get Denied.  it is a great read, and every real estate consumer should read this to better understand what is going on between calls to their Loan Officer when he says that “underwriting has the file.”

Today, Ken posted Creative Finance for 2009.  Again, it is a GREAT primer for consumers to better understand what they might want to pursue or not pursue as they look for ways to get into their dream homes.  He covers a few things that are absolute no-nos, as well as a couple of things that ARE options… that are often overlooked… even by Mortgage Pros.
