For years some people have complained that American cars couldn’t compete with cars from Japan and Europe. And while that might have been the case at one time, it certainly isn’t the case now…
Here are some American Cars that can go head to head with the best in the World… and WIN!

Cadillac CTS-V – $68,250* – Back in 2004, Cadillac decided to go after the Sport Sedan market (spelled B-M-W). The platform of choice for the mission was the CTS, introduced in 2002. Power/Torque was upped to 385/385, then 405/400. Beginning in the 2009 model year, Cadillac dumped the muscle into the mix… the 6.2L supercharged LS2 from the Corvette ZR1. With power ratings of 556/551, it was WAY beyond the earlier car. Cadillac managed to record a 7:59:32 on the Nürburgring Nordschleife… beating out the BMW M5… and every other sedan on factory tires.

Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited – $34,155* – Jeep introduced the Rubicon line in 2003, then offered the 2 door Unlimited with extended wheelbase in 2005 (non-Rubicon Unlimiteds were available in 2004). In 2007, with the introduction of the JK line, the Unlimited became a 4 door, and the Rubicon package was again offered. Featuring front and rear locking differentials, there is simply NO other off-road vehicle with more capability offered for anything close to the price.

Ford Fusion – (Sport – $30,245* 0r Hybrid – $32,640*) – The 2010 Ford Fusion has been selected as the Motor Trend Car of the Year. The chorus of positive reviews for the Fusion has been pretty loud… from both American and international media. In fact, it beat out such contenders as the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord. It is even a Top Safety Pick by the IIHS. The Hybrid scores 41mpg around town and 36 on the highway. The Sport manages 18/27mpg. 0-60 for the Sport should come up in the sub 7 second range.
