Mrs. GarageGuy and I had the opportunity earlier this week to visit with Brendon Barclay, Executive Director of Sustaining Urban Villages. Along with a score of other adults and kids (mostly homeschoolers…), we had volunteered our morning to help with the construction of an outdoor classroom.

Have you heard of the Eastern Continental Divide? It is an imaginary line that runs right through the Norcross Historic District… and all of the rivers and streams on one side of this line eventually flow into the Atlantic… on the other side, they flow into the Gulf of Mexico.

Lawrenceville is the largest city in Gwinnett County, GA (pop. 29528 inside the city limits in July, 2008). And it is the second oldest in the Atlanta Metro area, created by Charter by the the Georgia General Assembly in December 1821.
