Sunday was a NASCAR kind of day. My Friend Pat Johnson, of Rugged Ridge, had a spare ticket (provided by one of his customers, Jack Lancaster, owner of Tellico 4×4) for the race at Talladega Super Speedway. We did a fairly fast road trip/race day… On the way about 7:00 in the morning and back home by 10:00 that evening.
But all of that is only to set a stage…
I just ran across one of these videos on the Disney Blog and had to see if there were any others. I came up with three.
I wrote a post a couple of years ago this week about my son and his ice skating lessons. He was having issues bending his knees… which had been brought about partially by the type of skates he started with. When he changed from rental figure skates to hockey skates, he was keeping the old (bad) habit he had relied upon.
There are two things that give me more pride than anything else… And one of them will be celebrating his 2nd birthday on Saturday.
In reaching back two years for a post, this is the one that jumped out… I loved the first thing he had to say after being born.
Last week he got his big present… a “Big Boy Bed”. He doesn’t seem to be sure what to think of that whole thing… He likes it, but isn’t so sure that sleeping in it is cool.
And he isn’t shy about letting his feeling be known. But I can’t imagine being more proud. My boys are both amazing people.
I am a hockey fan, and as I write this, about 10 minutes of the 1st period in the Gold Medal round game has elapsed… USA v Canada. It looks like it will be a very exciting game.
