I wrote a cheeky post a couple of years ago… it still gets a lot of attention from Google.

I said I could sell any home in a week.

And I still mean it.  There are some caveats, but the underlying logic still works.  That doesn’t mean that you WANT to really sell your home in a week.  I mean, you might want to, but you might not want to sell it enough to actually go through with it.

Since I wrote that post, I have seen a lot of homes sold in or close to that time frame.  There are a lot of REO (Bank-Owned) properties that have employed parts of the strategy.  Other REO listings aren’t utilizing the important parts… and they are on the market for months.

Like I said, you might not really want to try to sell in a week, but it can be done.  It isn’t rocket science.  It just might sting a little.
